Building on the knowledge from the regular classroom, the unit focusses on adaptations in marine life and in particular, the horseshoe crab. An essential part of the Delaware coastal ecosystem, activities explore this unique creature, its benefits to human society and the special role it plays in the lives of migrating shorebirds. Activities include a “Super Sleuth”, Socratic Seminar, a small group pantomime performance, and a differentiated final project.
