When does registration open? How do I learn about new #UDAW events and know when an event has sold out?

Can I find out who else is attending Alumni Weekend?

A: What's a party without the guest list? Check the Who's Coming page to see the names of fellow Blue Hens who will be joining you at Alumni Weekend. The headers are sortable, so click and sort as you see fit! (hide)

How do I contact attendees from my class before or after Alumni Weekend?

A: Let other Blue Hens know you're attending on social media using the official Alumni Weekend hashtag: #UDAW. (hide)

Can I take a tour of campus during Alumni Weekend?

A: Several different tours of campus are offered on Saturday. Please see the Schedule page for more details. Also, you are welcome to stroll around campus at your leisure anytime throughout the weekend and enjoy the beauty of your alma mater. (hide)

Which events are child-friendly?

A: We have a fantastic selection of family events this year ranging from Brunch with the Mascots, Ice Skating, Engineering Food to Chinese Calligraphy and Underwater Robotics in action. Are pets allowed?

A: Pets are not allowed inside University buildings or in residence halls (excluding bona fide service animals). Pets are allowed everywhere else on campus. Please clean up after your pets, and keep them on a leash at all times. (hide)

Can you accommodate special needs?

A: Alumni with special needs are encouraged to attend Alumni Weekend. We want you to have as few obstacles as possible during your stay and to be able to participate in all activities. What are the dates of Alumni Weekend 2017?

A: Alumni Weekend traditionally falls on the first weekend in June. Next year's dates are June 2–4, 2017. (hide)

What is the attire for the weekend?

A: Attire for the weekend is casual. We recommend comfortable clothes and shoes so that you can walk around campus during the day. Average daytime temperature for June in Delaware is in the low 80s. (hide)

Transportation and Parking

Where can I park?

A: Parking is available without a parking pass throughout the weekend at the Laird Campus (North Campus) lot. Trabant Garage, Perkins Garage and the Center for the Arts garage will be open all weekend for a small fee. Visit the parking website for special rates. On Friday, June 3, the maximum charge for any campus parking garage will be $5. A limited number of handicap parking spaces are available throughout campus. Handicap registration plates or placards are required to use these spaces. (hide)

How do I get to and from events on campus?

A: University of Delaware shuttles will be available on Friday and Saturday. (hide)

Is there taxi service in Newark?

A: Uber is offering a discount to alumni of up to $15 off of their first ride. Sign up with the code UDalumni2016 at Uber.com/app. (hide)

Housing

Is there internet access in the residence halls?

A: Yes, there is wireless internet access in all residence halls. For more information about accommodations during Alumni Weekend, see the Stay at UD page. (hide)

What are the directions to the residence halls?

A: Laird Campus is located off Route 896 and is home to Clayton Hall, the Christiana Towers and Independence Complex residence halls. Parking for the weekend is free on Laird Campus and is available near the Christiana Towers. Fellow Blue Hens volunteering for the Arrival Survival Team will assist you moving back into college! The East Campus dorms are located on Academy Street. Parking is available in Perkins Student Center parking garage (UD parking rates apply) or in the Pearson Hall surface lot (free all weekend). What items are included in the residence hall rooms when I arrive?

A: Laird Campus amenities include cups, toilet paper, a bar of soap and tissues. East Campus rooms do not include any items in the room, and soap and toilet paper are located in the hallway bathrooms. For all rooms, linens, pillows, blankets and towels are only available in the linen package for a fee (or you may bring your own). Check-in: Friday 3:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m. at your individual residence hall
Check-in: Friday 8:00 p.m.–2:00 a.m., Christiana Commons
Check-in and Check-out: Saturday 6:00 a.m.–2:00 a.m.
Check-out: Sunday 6 a.m.–12:00 p.m., Christiana Commons

There will be a person on-call 2:00 a.m.–6:00 a.m. After hours, a number will be displayed where the staff person on call may be reached.


East Campus

How do I obtain my room key if I arrive after check-in hours?

A: Laird Campus guests: The front desk at the Christiana Commons will be open 24 hours a day beginning at 3:00 p.m. on Friday until 12:00 p.m. on Sunday.

East Campus guests: If you are checking in late, lose your key, or need immediate assistance, you will be provided with an emergency 24-hour number to call.

What is the check-out process and at what time can I check out?

A: Laird Campus guests: Drop off your room key and building FOB at the Christiana Commons. Failure to drop off key and access card to the Christiana Commons will result in an additional charge of $125 needed to cover maintenance and locksmith costs. Linens may be left in the rooms.

Check-out times: Saturday 6:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. and Sunday 6:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.

Registration

When is the registration deadline?

A: Online registration (for events that are not sold out) closes on Tuesday, May 31, 2016. Early Hen pricing will be available until Saturday April 30, 2016; after that, select event registration costs will increase. (hide)

What if my plans change and I need to modify or cancel my registration?

A: The deadline for a full refund is May 13. After May 13, cancellations are non-refundable. Refunds will not be given for missed events after the event has taken place. Between May 13 and May 31 you may transfer your registration to another person. Requests for a refund or to change registrations must be made by the primary registrant. They may be submitted to the Office of Development and Alumni Relations by May 23 by calling 302-831-2341 or emailing aw-registration@udel.edu. Refund requests must be submitted in writing to that email address. (hide)

Can I pay cash or credit card for events at Alumni Weekend if I do not pre-register?

A: Yes, you can pay for events via cash or credit card throughout the weekend. On Friday in Trabant University Center Multipurpose Room you can sign up for events that are not sold out. On Saturday you will be able to pay for non-sold out events on site. You may also pay for reunion events via cash or credit card at the respective locations. That said, the Office of Development and Alumni Relations recommends that, in order to save money and time, you register online and take advantage of Early Hen Pricing by registering on or before April 30. Where and at what time can I pick up my registration materials on the day(s) of the event?

A: You can pick up your event registration materials for all events in Trabant University Center Multipurpose Rooms on Friday from 3:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m. If you are only attending Saturday events, please go directly to the event location to pick up your name badge and do not report to Trabant. There will be no registration in Trabant on Saturday. If you are participating in the Blue Hen 5K on Sunday, day-of registration and pre-registration pick-up begins at 8:30 a.m. on Laird Campus. Can I register and check-in my friends for Alumni Weekend events?

A: Yes, you may register your friends for Alumni Weekend! However, if you register multiple people, their name badges will print out with yours upon check-in at Trabant University Center. If you’re attending Dela-bration (formerly Mug Night), all attendees need their name badge to access the tent as well as a wristband signifying that they are of drinking age. Wrist-banding stations will be located in Trabant and the entrance to Dela-bration. For dorm check-in, only the roommates you list will receive room keys and fobs upon check-in. (hide)

How will I know that my registration has been received and processed?
