Tim Woolley Stables @ Fair Hill
One of North America's premier training facilities, Fair Hill offers
trainers the finest year-round accomodations. Situated on 350 acres of
beautiful Maryland countryside, the center adjoins the 5,600 acre Fair
Hill Preserve. Many of the 14 barns are secluded by rolling hills, ponds,
and wooded acres, yet grant easy access to the two training tracks, turf
track and cross-country areas. This environment is essential for
developing the mental health of the race horse as it is prepared for a
busy racing campaign.
The one mile dirt track with 10% banked turns and the 7/8 mile wood-fiber
track with its excellent shock absorbing qualities provide exceptionally
safe, all-weather alternative training surfaces. This is of particular
importance for young horses receiving their early education (reduces the
likelyhood of bucked shins etc.) and older horses needing a kinder
surface.
Located just 10 minutes from I 95, 1 hour South of Philadelphia, and 1
hour North of Baltimore, Fair Hill horses frequently run at the following
racetracks:
- Aqueduct
- Belmont
- The Meadowlands
- Monmouth
- Atlantic City
- Garden State
- Laurel
- Pimlico
- Delaware
- Philadelphia Park
- Penn National
Tim first arrived at Fair Hill in 1987 (its first year) and is
