www.brandywinemuseum.org .(610) 388-2700

Philadelphia Art Museum.   26th Street and the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Philadelphia, PA 19130
www.philamuseum.org .  (215) 763-8100
Philadelphia Museum of Art offers a wide variety of exhibits—paintings, installations of period furniture, sculpture, decorative arts, photography, textiles, art from around the world, as well as historic homes to visit.  It also houses gift shops, a restaurant and offers classes to the public.

The climb up the front steps to the main building, made iconic by the Rocky movies, rewards the patron with a fantastic view.  There is also a sculpture park behind the building along the Schuykill River. A shuttle bus runs between the main building and the Perelman building nearby, which houses textile and print collections.

Recently a large parking structure was built at the back of the museum near the river so parking is no longer a problem.  Getting into the parking structure can be a little tricky.  There is a traffic circle in front of the museum—stay to the right as  you make the left turn and swing into the lane going up the rise along the museum towards the parking structure ($8 for 4 hours).  Alternatively, take the SEPTA train from Wilmington to the 30th St. station in Pennsylvania and use public transportation to the museum. SEPTA bus routes 7, 32, 38, 43, and 48 currently serve the Museum area.
