The Photography Program

The concentration in Photography encompasses the tools, techniques, processes and aesthetics of photography as a medium for artistic communication. Beyond basic black-and-white photography, advanced technical and aesthetic concepts are considered as related to fine and applied art problems. Co lor photography includes the shooting and processing of color slides and negatives, producing color prints from each; color theory, color emulsions and contemporary ideas in color photography are also examined. Students gain first-hand experience in operating and maintaining a photographic fac ility as well. Additionally, the concentration in Photography explores the use of computer technology and techniques to create digital imagery and pursue creative concerns in general.
