
Germain scored seven goals last season, when she was named second team All-CAA. She was the only Delaware player selected to the pre-season team, which was determined by the conference's head coaches.
Joining her at forward were William and Mary's pre-season player of the year Claire Zimmeck, James Madison sophomore Cate Tisinger and Old Dominion senior Katie Watson.
Zimmeck, a senior, has earned CAA women's soccer player of the year honors the past two seasons. Tisinger was the 2007 CAA rookie of the year, after scoring nine goals and 10 assists.
The four pre-season All-CAA midfielders were each named to the All-CAA first team in 2007. They are William and Mary senior Dani Collins, James Madison senior Kim Germain, Hofstra senior Edel Malone and UNC Wilmington senior Kelly Renkin.
Voted to the all-conference squad on defense were Hofstra senior Marie Curtin, William and Mary sophomore Kaitlin O'Connor, Virginia Commonwealth senior Samara Stephen-Dowd and James Madison junior Caitlin Walko. The goalkeeper is Wiliam and Mary senior Meghan Walker.
Delaware, which posted a record of 8-10 a year ago, will open the 2008 season Aug. 29-31 when the Fightin' Blue Hens host Towson, Lafayette and St. John's in the annual Blue Hen Classic at the Delaware Mini-Stadium.
