Young hosts comedy show Aug. 24 in Philly
12:04 p.m., Aug. 18, 2008--A month before Danna Young, assistant professor of communication, came to UD, her husband Mike died from complications from a brain tumor, in 2006. Mike Young was a gifted comedic performer and was active in Mask and Wig as an undergraduate at the University of Pennsylvania, later serving as artistic director of ComedySportz Philadelphia, where he trained more than 10 classes of comedians and performers.

As a tribute to Mike, Danna is co-hosting and performing in the third annual Laughtastic Sketchopalooza, which honors Mike's memory and also benefits the Mike Young Fund at Jefferson Hospital for Neursocience. Danna has served as executive producer of Laughtasic Sketchopalooza for three years.

The event will be held at 7:30 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 24, at World Café Live, at 3025 Walnut St., in Philadelphia. Tickets are $15 and are available at [http://tickets.worldcafelive.com/eventperformances.asp?evt=2582].

The performance features Danna Young and co-host Don Montrey, stand-up comedians Steve Gerben and Doogie Horner, Rowan and Hastings, Bad Hair Sketch, and a flashback to Mike Young's 1986 sketch for Mask and Wig.
