“Being on Wheel is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I'll always remember,” says Silverman. “The entire process was exciting, and I know I'll be able to take that experience and apply it to my class work and to my teaching career.”
Silverman was accompanied to the recording of the show by her parents, Diane and Ed; brother Mitchell, a freshman at the University of Maryland; boyfriend, Brett Cooper, a junior animal science major from Marlborough, N.J.; and her UD roommates Jenna Winn, a junior fashion merchandising major from Mattapoisett, Mass., and Brittany Winsick, a junior mass communication major from Upper Saddle River, N.J.
Silverman auditioned for the show this past summer when the Wheelmobile visited her hometown. She also applied online and was chosen randomly from a group of entries to audition at a local hotel in mid-July.
During the audition, Silverman played a simulated game, took a written test and answered interview questions. In early August, she received notification that she was selected to be on a show, which was recorded in southern California on Sept. 7.
