Alum to share secrets of getting a TV news job
Matt O’Donnell
9:40 a.m., Oct. 12, 2007--Matt O'Donnell, a UD alum and morning anchor of Action News on Philadelphia's WPVI-TV6, will host discussions on how to succeed in broadcast journalism during two sessions, from 10:30-11:45 a.m., and from 1:30-2:45 p.m., today, Oct. 12, in 202 Old College.

During the talks, O'Donnell will recount how he was able to get a job as an on-air reporter at a network affiliate, just days before graduating from UD, and how he ultimately made his way to a major-market news anchor's chair.

A 1994 UD graduate with a major in English/journalism and a minor in political science and international relations, O'Donnell has worked at television stations in Binghamton, N.Y., and Syracuse, N.Y., and has been with WPVI-TV since 1996. As a UD student he reported for The Review and WVUD-FM.

A year ago, O'Donnell was one of four alumni honored by UD with a Presidential Citation for Outstanding Achievement.

The talks are open to all members of the UD community. For more information, call (302) 831-2361.
