The banner winners will be announced and “Most Spirited Fan” will be judged at a Homecoming spirit pep rally to be held from 3-4:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 12, on the Trabant patio.
Registered student organizations, Greek organizations and students in residence halls with the best banner will lead the football team onto the field at the Fightin' Blue Hens Homecoming football game against Northeastern University at noon, Saturday, Oct. 13, on Tubby Raymond Field in Delaware Stadium.
Those who competed in the banner contest are eligible to enter a skit/cheer for the “Most Spirited Fan” prize that includes UD apparel, a singing YoUDee doll and a UD football in a UD bag.
Judging the banner and most spirited fan competitions will be Monté Ross and Tina Martin, the men's and women's basketball coaches; Michael Fernbacher, coordinator with Judicial Affairs and Barry Miller, assistant director of Recreation Services.
The UD cheerleaders and the dance team will perform, and YoUDee will entertain the crowd. There will be a football toss and a basketball shoot out, cotton candy and popcorn booths.
