The Hens are now 1-5 to open the season. They will return to action with a home game against LaSalle University at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 28, at the Bob Carpenter Center.
In the loss to a strong Louisville team, UD was led by sophomore guard Corinthia Benison, who scored 15 points. Freshman guard Vanessa Kabongo had 11, senior guard Kyle DeHaven had 9 and sophomore forward Sha'Ron Harrison and junior guard Ethlynne Thomas had 8 apiece.
Against Murray State, Thomas and Kabongo had 10 points each, while junior guard Jamie Mundy had 9 and DeHaven had 8. Kabongo was named to the all-tournament team.
“We struggled tonight offensively,” said 12th-year UD Head Coach Tina Martin. “We took some good shots but were unable to finish. We need to defend shooters better.”
