UD women’s lacrosse falls to William & Mary
UD’s Casey McCrudden scored four goals in the loss to William and Mary.
8:13 a.m., May 5, 2008--The University of Delaware women's lacrosse team fell 15-14 to the host College of William and Mary in a Colonial Athletic Association championship tournament semifinal game played Friday evening at Albert-Daly Field in Williamsburg, Va.

The Fightin' Blue Hens had a 9-6 lead at halftime but William and Mary rallied, scoring the game winning goal with 6:56 left in regulation.

Senior Casey McCrudden socred four goals and Katie Muth and Debbie Sloan scored three each to lead the Blue Hens. Alexis Curcio had two goals and Courtney Aburn and Corinne Drost had one each. Emily Schaknowski had four assists.

UD goalkeeper Jessica Cerveny had 10 saves. Both Cerveny and McCrudden were named to the CAA All-Championship team.

In Sunday's championship game, Towson University defeated William and Mary 16-7 for the title and an automatic berth in the NCAA championship tournament.
