4:32 p.m., March 12, 2008--Emily Nagoski, a sex and health educator from West Chester University, will be giving a presentation on alcohol and sexuality at 7 p.m., Tuesday, March 18, in the theatre of the Trabant University Center. The presentation, “Love, Lust and Liquor,” is sponsored by Wellspring, UD's student wellness program.
The presentation will focus on the ways in which sexuality is affected at the different stages of intoxication, from the reduced inhibitions of a buzz to “unusual decision making about where and when to get naked.” The session also will discuss ways to make sexual communication easier between partners and will include tips on how to maximize the “pleasure plateau” when mixing sexual and drinking behaviors.
Nagoski began her work in sexual education as a peer health educator at UD. Since then, she has worked as a sex and relationship counselor at the Kinsey Institute and as an associate instructor of human sexuality at Indiana University. Her goal is to help students understand and maximize their sexual potential in many forms.
The presentation is free and open to the public. For more information, call Wellspring at (302) 831-3457.
