UD men’s lacrosse falls 18-10 at Georgetown

8:58 a.m., March 13, 2008--The University of Delaware men's lacrosse team suffered its first defeat of the season, falling 18-10 to host Georgetown University on Wednesday in a battle of nationally ranked teams.

Georgetown took a 7-4 lead into halftime and broke the game open in the third quarter, scoring eight goals.

The Fightin' Blue Hens got two goals each from Beau Davis, Curtis Dickson and Tommy Lee. Also scoring were Vincent Giordano, Drew turner, Martin Cahill and J.J. Moran. Goalkeeper Tom Scherr had 11 saves and Noah Fossner had two.

Delaware entered the game ranked No. 7 in NCAA Division I, with Georgetown ranked No. 12.

With the loss, the Blue Hens are now 5-1. They will return to action with a home game against Stony Brook University at 5 p.m., Saturday, March 15, at Rullo Stadium.
