Lilly-East teaching conference at UD April 17-18

4:22 p.m., March 25, 2008--The University of Delaware will host the 2008 Lily East Conference on College and University Teaching for faculty at East Coast institutions on Thursday and Friday, April 17 and 18, in Clayton Hall.


The conference, "Learning by Design," will highlight how to design, facilitate and assess learning environments that support and enhance student learning. An esteemed faculty panel will provide the framework for this event by discussing the Scholarship of Learning and Teaching (SoTL).


From 1:30-4:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 16, Dee Fink, an international expert on course design, will facilitate a pre-conference session titled “Designing Courses for More Significant Learning.”

The conference features 63 concurrent sessions and 21 poster presentations addressing innovative teaching and classroom research. The event also provides a collegial forum for networking and exchange of instructional practice across disciplines and institutions.
