McKenna to read from 'Ulysses' on Bloomsday in Philly

9:49 a.m., June 9, 2008--Bernard McKenna, assistant professor of English at UD, will read part of James Joyce's Ulysses at 12:40 p.m., Monday, June 16, at the Rosenbach Museum in Philadelphia, in celebration of Bloomsday.

Bloomsday is the day on which the fictional protagonist Leopold Bloom made his odyssey through Dublin in Joyce's Ulysses, and every year the Rosenbach Museum joins with Joyce buffs throughout the world to celebrate the day on June 16. An exhibition of Joyce materials also is on view inside the museum, which is open to visitors all day.
