Delaware men’s tennis falls 6-1 to Pennsylvania
Jonathan Schwartz was the lone singles winner as the Blue Hens fell 6-1 at Penn.
8:19 a.m., Feb. 18, 2008--The University of Delaware men's tennis team began its spring season with a 6-1 setback to Ivy League powerhouse the University of Pennsylvania on Sunday afternoon at Levy Pavilion in Philadelphia.

Penn won five of six singles matches and two of three in doubles action, handily defeating the Fightin' Blue Hens.

UD senior Jonathan Schwartz led the Hens, taking a hard-fought 7-6 (9-7), 2-6, 10-8 triumph over the Quakers' Brandon O'Gara at No. 6 singles, while the No. 1 doubles duo of sophomore Austin Longacre and junior Nolan Greenberg scored an 8-6 win over Penn's Jason Pinsky and Joseph Lok.

Longacre gave Pinsky a fight at No. 1 singles before falling 4-6, 6-3, 10-6, while Lok defeated Greenberg at No. 2 singles 6-3, 6-2. Sophomore Sam Barrer at No. 3 singles, freshman Chris Hincker at No. 4 and sophomore Camilo Perez at No. 5 all suffered straight-set losses.

In other doubles action, Schwartz and sophomore Andrew Blumberg fell 8-1 to O'Gara and Eric Riley, while Barrer and Perez suffered an 8-5 defeat at the hands of Penn's Adam Schwartz and Justen Roth.
