The UD women's team won five events and were led by Marquez, who captured the 200-meter dash in 24.93, the second best time in UD history, and the 500-meter run in a UD record 1:14.87. That broke the previous record of 1:15.70 set by Tyechia Smith in 2004.
Marquez also teamed with Kristi Cox, Kayla Hennessy and Asha Quant to win the 4x400-meter relay in 4:03.29.
Other winners for the UD women's team were Amanda Marshall, who won the weight throw at 54 feet, 7.25 inches, and Annie Fulton, who won the triple jump with a leap of 35 feet, 8.5 inches. Marshall's throw was the second best in school history.
Hennessy set a new UD record in the 55-meter hurdles, clocking 8.45 seconds. That broke the record of 8.46 by Karen Johnson in 1992. She also finished second in the 200 meters (25.60).
Also for the UD women, Laura Chirico was second in the pole vault (11-9.75), Leah Putman was second in the triple jump (35-8) and fourth in the 55 meter hurdles (8.53), Quant was second in the 55 meters (7.22) and third in the 200 meters (25.81), Julia Somers was third in the 3,000 meters (10:42.25), Cox was third in the 500 meters (1:17.14) and fourth in the 200 meters (26.13), and Marshall was fourth in the shot put (41-5.25).
In action for the UD men's team, Will Jurkowski won the 500-meter run (1:06.76) and Brad Dodson won the mile run (4:19.09).
Nick Morrisey was third in the 200 meters (23.17) and teamed with Jurkowski, Adam Cornelisse and Mike Goldwasser to finish fourth in the 4x400 meter relay (3:27.94). Alex Malikian was third in the 500 meters (1:08.61), and Conrad Rapp was third in the pole vault with a leap of 15-5, a career best and the second highest jump in school history. Dodson also finished fourth in the 1,000 meters (2:34.07) and Cornelisse was fourth in the 500 meters (1:09.70).
UD's indoor track and field teams will compete in the New York University Fasttrack Invitational scheduled Friday, Feb. 29, at the New York Armory.
