The Fightin' Blue Hens, who return 16 starters from last year's team that posted a 5-6 record, have 90 players in camp. The sessions will culminate in the season opening game on Thursday, Aug. 30, at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Va. The game will be the first-ever Colonial Athletic Association football contest and will be televised live on CN8.
The Hens, who have been ranked in the national top 25 in almost every preseason NCAA Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) poll, will practice for approximately two and a half hours each day on the UD practice field located behind Delaware Field House. Practice sessions are free and open to the public.
The team will take part in one practice a day, generally from 8:15 until 10:45 a.m. until Aug. 7. After an off-day on Aug. 8, the team will begin two practices a day on Aug. 9, generally beginning at 6:15 a.m. and 4:25 p.m. each day. The first scrimmage is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 11.
Delaware's annual Media/Photo Day will be held on Friday, Aug. 17, at 10 a.m. at Tubby Raymond Field at Delaware Stadium. The event is free and open to the public.
