Delaware baseball team wins game at Rutgers
UD’s Jared Olson had two hits and scored two runs in the victory over Rutgers.
8:43 a.m., April 10, 2008--The University of Delaware baseball team scored four first inning runs and held off host Rutgers University for a 5-3 victory on Wednesday afternoon at Bainton Field in Piscataway, N.J.

The Fightin' Blue Hens used five pitchers to hold down Rutgers, which starter Corey Crispell getting the win after working five innings and allowing just two runs. Joe Tebaldi got a save.

Designated hitter Ryan Reed and left fielder Jared Olson had two hits each, with Reed scoring one run and driving in another and Olson scoring twice. Catcher Chris Nehl hit a two-run single in the first inning, and shortstop Alex Buchholz and first baseman Ryan Cuneo both hits doubles.

With the victory, the Blue Hens improved to 11-19. They will travel to James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Va., for a three-game Colonial Athletic Association weekend series. Game times are 3 p.m., Friday, April 11, and 1 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, April 12 and April 13. The Dukes are 22-8 overall and 12-3 and in second place in the CAA.
