UD volleyball wins, off to best start in history
9:46 a.m., Sept. 6, 2006--The University of Delaware volleyball team defeated the host University of Maryland Baltimore County 3-0 on Tuesday to run its record to 8-0, the best start in the history of the program. The Fightin' Blue Hens won 30-22, 30-27 and 30-22 with junior Colleen Walsh getting 19 kills. Megan Welch had 36 assists, Heather Ranck had 16 digs and Kelly Gibson had nine kills and 15 digs. UD will begin Colonial Athletic Association play at home this weekend with games against George Mason University at 7 p.m., Friday, and against James Madison University at 1 p.m., Saturday, at Barbara Viera Court at the Carpenter Sports Building. |
