Talk on South Africa set Monday

5:41 p.m., Sept. 8, 2006--The Rev. Greg Chute of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Newark, will be the guest presenter at a talk on South Africa set for 7 p.m., Monday, Sept. 11, in 102 Gore Hall.

Chute, who returned recently from his fifth service trip to South Africa, will share music, photos and experiences from his visit. He also will talk about the social relief project he engaged in while there with seven UD students. During the visit, the team spent two weeks building an orphanage and foster care facility and two weeks traveling the country. In his presentation, Chute will describe what was entailed in the project and seek volunteers for a return trip in January.

Chute, who organized a group to assist with the Hurricane Katrina relief efforts in Mississippi over spring break last year, also will be seeking volunteers for a follow-up trip to Mississippi this year.

The Monday night talk, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by Battle for Life, a socially conscious spin-off group affiliated with UD's chapter of the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society.
