'Fun in the Sun' participant wins $200 gift certificate
12:05 p.m., Sept. 12, 2006--This year's grand-prize winner of the Employee Wellness Center's “Fun in the Sun” summer fitness program is Maura B. Ruffing, staff assistant, Office of University Development. Ruffing received a $200 gift certificate for Modell's Sporting Goods. Program participants selected from three goal levels then tracked their minutes of physical activity in a log each week from July 10-Aug. 20. Those who completed the program, meet their fitness goals and tried at least two new activities received a Wellness flying disc and were eligible for the $200 gift certificate. "We all know that we need to increase our level of physical activity, but many individuals struggle to do so. Employees who join our physical activity challenges find that making a commitment and tracking their progress really help them to be successful," Marianne Carter, director of the Employee Wellness Center, said. |
