3:51 p.m., Sept. 20, 2006--Vanilla cola, hazelnut fudge and watermelon ice--flavors of the month--are now on campus, along with all of Woodside Farm Creamery's other rich, creamy gourmet ice creams.

UD Dining Services and Woodside Farm Creamery, of Hockessin, are partnering to bring Scoops, which offers “A Sweeter World, One Scoop at a Time,” to campus. The ice cream is now available at Christiana Commons Market located on Laird Campus between the Christiana Towers.

Among Woodside's other tasty flavors are black raspberry, butter brickle toffee, pumpkin pecan, turtle, root beer, black cherry chip and a flavor that kids love called dirt (vanilla ice-cream with gummy worms and crushed Oreo cookies).

Hours of service, pricing and a full list of flavors are available at the Dining Services web site [www.udel.edu/dining/scoops.html].

The Mitchell family owns Woodside Farm, in operation since 1796. The creamery opened in 1998 and gets milk for its ice cream from Jersey cows raised on the farm, where only sun, rain and fertile soil are used to grow alfalfa, clover, orchard grass and rye grass in the lush, green pastures where its cows graze and live in a clean and low-stress environment.
