9:48 a.m., Sept. 19, 2006--The University of Delaware men's tennis team opened its fall season with a strong showing at the weekend Swarthmore Tournament, winning six of eight singles flights and two of four doubles flights.

The Fightin' Blue Hens were led by sophomore Matthew Liebman, who captured both the Flight B singles title and the Flight D doubles crown. In double, he paired with freshman Camilo Perez, who won the Flight E singles title, as well.

Other flight winners for the Hens were freshman Sam Barrer in Flight D, junior Jason Hanschmann in Flight F, junior Zach Chafitz in Flight G and sophomore Josh Levine in Flight H.

The tournament included host Swarthmore College, Temple University, Haverford College, the College of New Jersey and UD.

The men's team will return to action at noon, Sunday, when they face Temple at the Delaware Field House courts.
