Working mothers support network meetings 3:42 p.m., Sept. 29, 2006--A networking seminar series designed specifically for working mothers at UD is set for the fall semester. Cosponsored by UD's Office of Women's Affairs and the Faculty and Staff Assistance Program, the series is intended to provide a monthly venue for UD faculty and staff to discuss parenting strategies and find support for issues related to balancing life and work. The schedule follows. Come Play With Me, noon-1 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 5, 209/211 Trabant University Center. This meeting, which will be led by Eileen Blouse, a teacher at UD's Early Learning Center, will focus on working with children from 3-8 years old. How to Talk to Children About Sexuality, noon-1:15 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 31, Collins Room, Perkins Student Center. This meeting, which will be led by Yvonne Nass, a parent education consultant at Parent Education Consulting Services, will focus on ways to broach a sometimes difficult topic. Strategies for Effective Parenting, noon-1 p.m., Monday, Nov. 13, Collins Room, Perkins Student Center. This meeting, which will be led by A. Nicole Boyd-Douglas, a psychologist at UD's Center for Counseling and Student Development, will focus on effective parenting strategies for children from 1-10 years old. All seminars in the series are free and open to members of the University community. Participants are encouraged to bring a bag lunch. Beverages and desserts will be provided.
