Lady Vols Hall of Fame to induct Bonnie Kenny

UD’s Bonnie Kenny has been selected for induction into the Lady Vols Hall of Fame.

10:59 a.m., Sept. 7, 2006--Bonnie Kenny, head coach of the University of Delaware volleyball team, is one of six former University of Tennessee scholar-athletes who have been selected for induction into the Lady Volunteer Hall of Fame. Enshrinement activities for the Class of 2006 are scheduled for Friday evening, Sept. 22, at the Knoxville Convention Center.

Kenny was a volleyball standout for Tennessee from 1980-84 and has been the head volleyball coach at UD since 2002. Her 2006 team has opened the season 8-0, the best start in the history of the Fightin' Blue Hens program.

Before coming to UD, Kenny was head coach at the University of South Carolina and at the University of Massachusetts. She has just begun a term as president of the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

Other members of the induction class are Tracy Bonner (diving), Karla Driesler McQuain (swimming), Alisa Harvey (track and cross country), and basketball players Tonya Edwards and Mary Ostrowski.
