Undergrad research grant deadline Oct. 2 11:04 a.m., Sept. 19, 2006--Fall semester applications from undergraduates for grants to fund research supplies and expenses are due by Monday, Oct. 2. Grants provide up to $250 per semester for senior thesis candidates and up to $150 per semester for all other undergraduate researchers. Funds may be used to reimburse costs incurred by the student or to contribute toward the cost of supplies provided by faculty sponsors. Types of expenses include purchase of expendable materials, photocopying of research materials, travel to access primary materials, travel to professional conferences, etc. The faculty sponsor must submit a Letter of Support for the student's project and approve the proposed budget. Application forms are available at the Undergraduate Research Program, 12 W. Delaware Ave. Awards will be announced by Oct. 23. |
