'City Year' information session at UD Oct. 3

11:26 a.m., Sept. 29, 2006--Representatives from City Year Greater Philadelphia, which is part of the AmeriCorps National Service Network, will hold an information session from 4-5 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 3, at UD's Career Services Center to tell students about their service opportunities.

City Year is seeking young persons 17-24 to make a full-time commitment to community service, leadership development and civic engagement for 10 months. Young leaders invest their talents and energy to solve critical problems in their communities and make a positive difference in the lives of others.

City Year operates programs from 15 different locations across the United States. Corps members commit to a minimum of 1,700 hours of service over a 10-month period from late August to the middle of June.
