LGBT faculty, staff allies training Oct. 4

4:50 p.m., Sept. 13, 2006--The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered (LGBT) Community Office will provide a training session for faculty and staff who would like to participate in the LGBT Allies Program.

The training session is from noon-2:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 4, in the Ewing Room of the Perkins Student Center. Lunch will be provided.

Training session applications are available online at [www.udel.edu/allies/form/apply.html].

The Allies Program helps faculty and staff be supportive of UD's LGBT community. Once part of the program, employees will display the Allies Program logo prominently in their workplaces as a symbol of solidarity and to let individuals who have questions or concerns know where to go to find resources. For more information about the Allies Program, visit [www.udel.edu/allies/overview.html].

The training session will be conducted by Richie Holland, manager of human resources and affirmative action and instructor in the Women's Studies Program and Deb Cohen, assistant professor of psychology and psychologist for the Center for Counseling and Student Development.

For more information, phone the LGBT Community Office at (302) 831-8703 or e-mail [lgbtoffice@udel.edu].
