Talk on 'Fountain of Youth' slated Oct. 17

1:59 p.m., Oct. 4, 2006--Want to live a long healthy life? Learn which longevity factors are under your control.

UD's Employee Wellness Center is sponsoring a noontime lecture, "Live Life to the Youngest," from 12:05-12:55 p.m, Tuesday, Oct. 17, in 209 Trabant University Center.

"Americans are living longer and need to maintain good health throughout their years,” Marianne Carter, Employee Wellness Center director, said. "Many health problems that were once associated with aging can now be prevented with lifestyle choices such as nutrition and physical activity," she said.

Attendees will learn which day-to-day decisions affect longevity, and they'll receive practical tips such as healthy recipes and exercises for maintaining strength and flexibility.

"This is valuable information that all employees can benefit from,” Linda Smith, program coordinator, said. "Many of us look forward to retirement, but it's difficult to enjoy that period of our lives if we're in poor health,” she said.

Cost is 10 Wellness Dollars. A door prize of two tickets to the Brandywine Ballet's production of The Nutcracker will be presented to one lucky attendee.

Early registration is advised. Register online at [www.udel.edu/wellness].
