UD women’s soccer loses two CAA matches

UD’s Emily Sammis had two shots in the loss to Georgia State.

9:12 a.m., Oct. 16, 2006--The University of Delaware women's soccer team lost two Colonial Athletic Association road matches this weekend, falling 2-0 at the University of North Carolina Wilmington on Friday and 2-0 at Georgia State University on Sunday.

With the losses, the Fightin' Blue Hens fell to 8-6-2 overall and 3-5 in the conference. The Hens will return to action for the final home match of the season when they battle Northeastern University at 7 p.m., Friday, at the Delaware Mini-Stadium. They will then play at Hofstra University on Sunday afternoon before closing out the regular season at Drexel University on Oct. 27.

Against UNC Wilmington, Kasie Shover led the Hens with a pair of shots. Goalkeeper Bonnie Mills had three saves. Against Georgia State, Emily Sammis had two shots and Mills had five saves.
