Verdehr Trio to perform at UD Oct. 27

3:17 p.m., Oct. 24, 2006--The Verdehr Trio--Walter Verdehr, violin; Elsa Ludewig-Verdehr, clarinet and Silvia Roederer, piano--will perform at 8 p.m., Friday, Oct. 27, in the Gore Recital Hall of the Center for the Arts.

An acknowledged leader in the field of new music, the Verdehr Trio has for more than 30 years concentrated on molding and defining the personality of the violin-clarinet-piano trio. The trio has created a large repertoire by commissioning more than 170 new works from some of the world's most prominent and exciting composers.

The Verdehr Trio also will present two master classes: “The Making of a Medium,” at 1:25 p.m., Friday, Oct. 27, in Gore Recital Hall; and a clarinet master class at 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 28, in the Loudis Recital Hall of the Amy E. du Pont Music Building. The classes are free and open to the public.

Admission to the concert, presented by UD's Department of Music, is $12 for adults, $8 for seniors and alumni and $3 for students. Tickets may be purchased at the door or in advance at the Trabant University Center or Bob Carpenter Center box offices.
