Alumni to perform in 'Treasure Island' Nov. 8-14

2:24 p.m., Oct. 17, 2006--UD students and alumni will be featured when Delaware Theatre's First State Children's Theatre in Wilmington presents Linus Speary's stage adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island from Nov. 8-14.

Current and former students from UD's Professional Theatre Training Program (PTTP) students are directing, acting and producing the play, which also will feature several UD faculty members.

Treasure Island is the first play by Delaware Theatre specifically for children and families.

Weekday performances are slated for 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 8; Thursday, Nov. 9; Monday, Nov. 13; and Tuesday, Nov. 14. Weekend performances are slated for 7:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 10; 11 a.m. and 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 11; and 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 12.

Tickets for the weekend performances are $6.50 for children and $8 for adults. Tickets for the weekday performances are $5 for children and adults.

The First State Children's Theatre was founded by Michael Boudewyns, a 1992 PTTP graduate, and current PTTP graduate student Sara Valentine.
