Employee flu shots offered Nov. 1-3 5:30 p.m., Oct. 9, 2006--Employee flu shots will be offered from 8:30-11:30 a.m. and 1-4 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 1; from 1-4 p.m., Thursday Nov. 2; and from 9- 11:30 a.m., Friday, Nov. 3, at UD's Student Health Service in Laurel Hall. Flu shots are available to current UD employees only. High-risk individuals are encouraged to sign up. Those who are considered at higher risk for the flu are older than 50, work in a health-care setting, have chronic heart or lung disease (including asthma) or need regular medical follow-up for other chronic illnesses such as diabetes. Flu shots should not be scheduled by those who have had Guillain-Barre Syndrome, are pregnant or are allergic to eggs. Allow 25-30 minutes per appointment because a 20-minute wait is required after injection. The cost for a flu shot is $20, and only cash, check or charge will be accepted--no wellness dollars.
