Multicultural leadership retreat set Nov. 3-5 4:48 p.m., Oct. 9, 2006--UD's fifth annual Multicultural Leadership Retreat, aimed at informing student leaders about issues of multiculturalism, diversity and social justice, will be held Friday-Sunday, Nov. 3-5. The three-day, overnight retreat is offered to residence life staff, residence complex community council members and all interested students. Participants will explore issues of multiculturalism, diversity, privilege and oppression through activities in large and small groups and explore what they've learned in small cohort groups, co-facilitated by graduate students and professional staff members. Teamwork and developing a sense of community will be emphasized among the participants as they build skills to be active leaders in developing a vibrant and inclusive multicultural campus, Michele Kane, assistant director of residence life, said.
