Cell phone, ink cartridge recycling

4:17 p.m., Oct. 16, 2006--Old cell phones and empty ink cartridges are now being collected for a campuswide recycling drive that continues through Wednesday, Dec. 6.

Collection boxes are located at the Trabant University Center information desk, the Perkins Student Center services desk and the Brown Laboratory mailroom. Old used cell phones, PDAs, ink cartridges and toner cartridges can be placed in any of the boxes, which, once full, will be mailed to US Recycling, a company whose mission is to keep recyclable materials out of landfills by paying institutions for them in a buyback program.

The drive is sponsored the Environmental Concerns Committee of UD's Alpha Lambda Delta fraternity, which will use the funds collected from US Recycling to raise awareness about recycling efforts on campus.
