UD men’s soccer team drops two CAA matches

9:27 a.m., Oct. 23, 2006--The University of Delaware men's soccer team lost two Colonial Athletic Association weekend matches, falling 1-0 on Friday at Northeastern University and 2-0 on Sunday to Hofstra University at the Delaware Mini-Stadium.

With the losses, the Fightin' Blue Hens fell to 5-8-2 overall and 3-7 in the CAA. They have just one game remaining and will face Drexel University at 7 p.m., Thursday, at the Delaware Mini-Stadium.

In the loss to Northeastern, UD goalkeeper Jon Curry-Edwards had three saves. Anthony Talarico, Matt Laudeman and Sobhan Tadjalli each had a pair of shots for the Hens.

Hofstra scored twice within the first two minutes to down the Hens. Splitting time in net, Curry-Edwards played the first half and had two saves while allowing the two goals. Taylor Thames had two saves in the second half. Paul Danaher had two shots and Laudeman one for UD.
