UD men’s soccer team falls to Mason, Towson

9:57 a.m., Oct. 9, 2006--In a pair of hard-fought road matches, the University of Delaware men's soccer team lost 1-0 to both George Mason University and Towson University in Colonial Athletic Association play this weekend. Both of those teams stand undefeated atop the conference standings.

The Fightin' Blue Hens are now 4-5-2 overall and 2-4 in the CAA. They will return to action with a pair of conference games at the Delaware Mini-Stadium this weekend, facing the University of North Carolina Wilmington at 7 p.m. Friday and Georgia State University at 1 p.m., Sunday.

In Sunday's loss to Towson, UD goalkeeper Jonathan Curry-Edwards had seven saves. The Tigers scored on a direct kick with 10:51 left to play. Paul Danaher and Sobhan Tadjalli had three shots each for the Hens.

In Friday's loss to George Mason, Curry-Edwards had seven saves. George Mason scored just under 14 minutes into the game and the Hens were unable to find the net in 15 shots.
