Four Seasons Gala to benefit arts in Newark

4:52 p.m., Oct. 30, 2006--Mosaic--a collaboration of the Newark Arts Alliance, Newark Symphony Orchestra and Mid-Atlantic Ballet--is holding an evening fundraiser of music, dance and art auctions from 7-10 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 4, at the Trabant University Center.

The Four Seasons Gala will feature a Newark art auction, music and dance performances and gourmet finger foods from local restaurants.

This is the first event of Mosaic, a new organization dedicated to providing a vibrant cultural life in Newark. Mosaic's gala will benefit the Newark Arts Alliance, the Newark Symphony Orchestra and Mid-Atlantic Ballet.

Mayor Vance Funk and Terri Kelly, CEO and President of W.L. Gore & Associates, are the honorary co-chairpersons for the gala. Newark City Councilman Paul Pomeroy will wield the auctioneer's gavel as items created by area artists, such as paintings and jewelry, go up for bid.

Restaurants providing refreshments for the event include: Blue Crab Grill, Brewed Awakenings, Caffé Gelato, Cucina di Napoli, Home Grown Café, and Matilda's Restaurant.

Sponsors include: Schlosser & Associates, Vance A. Funk III, Wilmington Trust, W.L. Gore & Associates, Landmark Engineering, Verizon, ZZ House Design and Print Studio and The Newark Post.

The music and dance portion of the evening will feature Roman Pawlowksi, director of the Newark Symphony Orchestra, and Mid-Atlantic Ballet dancers.

Tickets are $75 for a single ticket and $130 per pair. For tickets or more information, call (302) 266-7266 or visit [www.newarkartsalliance.org/auction.html].
