PTTP performs Rostand's classic 'Cyrano de Bergerac'
3:03 p.m., Oct. 27, 2006--UD's Professional Theatre Training Program (PTTP) presents two performances of Edmond Rostand's Cyrano de Bergerac this weekend in the Thompson Theatre of the new Center for the Arts. The play premieres at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 27, and will be performed again at 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 29. Brilliant swordplay and sparkling wordplay delight in this elegant tale of unrequited love. One of the theatre's most memorable figures, Cyrano is a master swordsman and a gallant poet with a pronounced nose and an undying, yet unrevealed, love for his cousin Roxane. When Roxane falls for Christian, a handsome cadet, Cyrano sacrifices his own happiness and bequeaths to his rival the words to woo the lady they both love. Additional performances are slated for:
