Ceramics exhibition runs through Nov. 21

3:44 p.m., Oct. 26, 2006--A ceramics exhibition featuring the work of Abigail Donovan, ceramic installation artist and UD faculty member, will run from Tuesday, Oct. 31-Tuesday, Nov. 21, in Recitation Hall Gallery.

Donovan, whose ceramic installations incorporate language and text, is a new assistant professor in ceramics in UD's Department of Art. She received her master of fine arts degree from the Cranbrook Academy of Art in Michigan and has had a major exhibition at the Santa Monica Art Museum in California.

Before the opening of her show, Donovan will lecture about her installation work at 5 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 31, in 130 Smith Hall. A reception will follow at 6 p.m. in Recitation Hall Gallery, where attendees will have a chance to meet and speak with the artist.

The show, lecture and opening reception, which are sponsored by UD's Department of Art, are free and open to the public.
