Oct. 8, 2006--Maryanne Bowers, 63, of Newark, died Oct. 4.

She served as a secretary in UD's School of Education for more than 30 years.

Surviving are her husband of 36 years, Ronald E. Bowers Jr.; two daughters, Michelle Lee Meckley and her husband, Kevin, of Middletown, and Sherri Lynn Suhr and her husband, Marcus, of Bear; her brother, James Unsworth of New Castle; two sisters, Joyce Humbertson and Patti Unsworth, both of New Castle; and three grandchildren, Carly, Mitch and Chase.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, Oct. 9, at the McCrery Memorial Chapel, 3710 Kirkwood Highway at Duncan Road, where family and friends may call after noon. Interment will be in Gracelawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
