Oct. 12 fund-raiser to aid Breast Cancer Coalition

2:47 p.m., Oct. 10, 2006--Chi Omega sorority, Klondike Kate's on Main Street and Bud Light are teaming up to fight Breast Cancer Thursday evening, Oct. 12. The proceeds from dinner served from 6-9 p.m. that evening will be donated to the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition.

Dinner tickets are $25 and include a silent auction with prizes such as a round of golf at Frog Hollow, Flyers and Phillies tickets and sports memorabilia.

Alan Burkhard, one of Klondike Kate's co-owners, will match customer donations up to $1,000 and match donations made by servers and bartenders from their tips during the dinner hours.

A pink ribbon is the symbol of the fight against breast cancer, so Chi Omega sisters and Kate's employees will be wearing pink T-shirts, and the restaurant will be lit in pink. T-shirt supplier, Unique Impressions, is donating $1.15 per Chi Omega shirt to the breast cancer coalition.

The sorority will sell Breast Cancer bracelets in front of Klondike Kate's from 6-9 p.m. Anyone who mentions or brings an article mentioning fund-raiser to Klondike Kate's that night will automatically be entered in a drawing to win gift certificates and merchandise.
