Basketball broadcasts announced by WVUD

2:44 p.m., Nov. 9, 2006--WVUD Sports has announced the schedule and broadcast team for its coverage of the 2006-2007 University of Delaware men's and women's basketball.

Coverage will begin on Sunday, Nov. 12, when the Fightin' Blue Hens women's team takes on Villanova University of the Big East Conference at 1 p.m. at the Bob Carpenter Center. This will be the first of more than 50 basketball broadcasts planned by WVUD, which is at 91.3 on the FM dial.

The schedule also includes all Colonial Athletic Association tournament games, with the 2007 women's tournament to be played at The Bob, and any NCAA tournament games. For details on broadcasts, see the WVUD Sports web site [www.wvud.org/sports.htm].

Leading the basketball broadcast team for the fourth consecutive season will be WVUD Sports Director Scott Klatzkin. A senior at UD, Klatzkin has served as play-by-play broadcaster for the men's basketball team during each of the past three years, and provided play-by-play for select football games during the 2006 season.

Also providing commentary this season will be seniors Matt Janus and Donald Roberson Jr., and sophomore Joe Winning. Other additions to the broadcast team will be announced prior to the start of the season.

The broadcasts can be heard on WVUD in nearly all of New Castle County, along with parts of Cecil County in Maryland, Chester and Delaware counties in Pennsylvania, and Salem County, N.J. In addition, live streaming audio will be available through the WVUD web site [www.wvud.org].

WVUD has been covering UD athletics for more than 20 years. This year, WVUD Sports plans to broadcast more than 100 events, including Fightin' Blue Hens basketball.
