Blue Hen Weekend: Swim teams in action

4:30 p.m., Nov. 2, 2006--The University of Delaware swimming and diving teams will be at home this weekend, serving as hosts of a Colonial Athletic Association quad meet on Friday and Saturday at the Harry W. Rawstrom Natatorium in the Carpenter Sports Building.

The Fightin' Blue Hens will compete against Old Dominion University, the College of William & Mary and Northeastern University. Both the UD men's and women's teams are off the strong starts, winning both of their early season dual meets. Events will begin at 5 p.m., Friday, and will resume on Saturday morning.

The UD volleyball team is on the road this weekend for a pair of CAA matches, visiting Georgia State University at 5 p.m., Friday, and the University of North Carolina Wilmington at 2 p.m., Sunday. The Hens are 17-7 overall and 8-6 I the conference, and are battling for a tournament berth. UD sophomore Kelly Gibson is the reigning CAA player of the week.

The UD football team is at James Madison University for an Atlantic 10 Conference game at 6 p.m., Saturday, and the women's rowing team will compete at the Head of the Occoquan regatta at Fairfax Station, Va.
