Jerusalem correspondent to speak Nov. 15

2:37 p.m., Nov. 10, 2006--Etgar Lefkovits, correspondent for the Jerusalem Post, will speak on issues facing a reporter in Israel, at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 15, in 115 Purnell Hall. His talk, “Reflections of a Jerusalem Correspondent,” covers such topics as Israeli politics, the recent war in Lebanon, covering suicide bombings, the security barrier going up around Jerusalem and how Hamas came to power.

Before joining the Jerusalem Post six years ago, Lefkovits served as senior assistant in The New York Times' Jerusalem bureau. He completed his Israeli army service as a military correspondent.

Lefkovits' UD appearance, free and open to the public, is sponsored by Blue Hens for Israel, a student-run organization that fosters and supports a deeper understanding of Israeli culture and society. For more information, send e-mail to [yardenas@udel.edu].
