Police are investigating robbery at McDonald's

1:49 p.m., Nov. 30, 2006--Newark Police are investigating the robbery of the McDonald's restaurant at 374 East Main St. that occurred at 10:36 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 29.

Police said a man dressed in a military-style camouflage jacket and blue jeans with a white shirt wrapped around his head and face walked up to the counter and when a 35-year-old female employee opened the cash register, he reached over the counter and grabbed an undisclosed amount of money from the drawer.

The man wrestled with the employee for the money then fled out the west side entrance and drove away in a midnight blue Dodge Ram full-sized shortbed pick-up truck with tinted windows. Witnesses said the license plate had black numbers of 12490 or 14290 on a white background.

The robber is described as being about 19-24 years of age and 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall with medium build.
