Howard, Swain selected field hockey All-Region

UD’s Casey Howard has been named first team All-Region.

8:57 a.m., Nov. 21, 2006--University of Delaware sophomore forward Casey Howard and senior midfielder Stephanie Swain have been named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-Region team.

Howard, a forward from Camden, Del., who played at Caesar Rodney High School, was named to the first team and Swain, a midfielder from Middletown who played at William Penn High School, was named to the second team.

Howard was the Fightin' Blue Hens' leading scorer this season, as she netted nine goals and added one assist to finish with 19 points. Swain, the assistant captain, was fourth on the team with 10 points on two goals and six assists. Earlier, she was selected second team All-Colonial Athletic Association.
