LIFE Fest slated for Dec. 7 at The Bob

3:20 p.m., Nov. 30, 2006--Freshman in the LIFE Program will display projects they've been working on throughout the semester at LIFE Fest, from 1-3 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 7, in the Bob Carpenter Center arena.

LIFE is an academic program for freshmen in which they form “clusters,” or small learning communities, organized around courses, academic themes and out-of-class experiences. Throughout the semester, these clusters work on projects created from their shared knowledge.

At this year's LIFE Fest, 94 clusters will exhibit projects such as videos about how incoming freshmen can prepare for college life and what it's like to be a freshman music major. One cluster built a computer complete with software and networking ability, and another did an analysis of how Vita Nova, UD's student-run restaurant, is managed, marketed and operated. There also will be an exhibition of Sussex County photos and an exhibit about how English department students collected 550 books to send to devastated high schools in New Orleans.
